Naomi Campbell Navigates Paris Fashion Week Chaos with Disinfectant and Designer Bag
The supermodel utilized a Lime bike to bypass traffic, meticulously cleaning it first.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, known for her germaphobic tendencies, employed disinfectant spray and latex gloves to navigate Paris Fashion Week, opting for a Lime bike to bypass traffic disruptions. The incident occurred amidst protests in the city, leaving Campbell with limited transportation options between shows.
Campbell, 56, was filmed by a team member as she sprayed down a public bike before riding it, emphasizing her commitment to hygiene. "It's impossible for me to take the bike without my gloves," she stated in a video.
Her attempt at a low-key commute was punctuated by the presence of her security guard cycling behind her, carrying her high-value crocodile Birkin bag, reportedly worth £85,000. Campbell struggled to cycle effectively in Chanel pumps, lamenting her choice of footwear.
"I don't even know if I can ride a bike, I haven't ridden a bike in years unless it was stationary," she admitted. "Oh my gosh, this is not happening, where are my sneakers? I was going to wear my sneakers today and you guys told me to wear shoes."
Campbell's rigorous hygiene practices are well-documented. She previously garnered attention during the coronavirus pandemic for boarding a plane in a full hazmat suit, mask, and gloves, and for meticulously cleaning her first-class seat. "This is my protection," she explained at the time. "As much as I travel, I should get so much more sick with colds and stuff and I'm blessed that I don't. And I really think that this helps me."
Campbell's appearance at Paris Fashion Week follows a recent legal victory where she overturned a five-year ban on serving as a charity trustee. The ban was imposed in 2024 following a finding of mismanagement of funds at her charity, Fashion for Relief.
