Supermodel Naomi Campbell, known for her meticulous approach to hygiene, recently adopted a public bike to navigate traffic amidst Paris Fashion Week. The 56-year-old model, a self-professed germaphobe, was seen donning latex gloves and using disinfectant spray on a Lime bike before riding it between shows.

Campbell explained her unconventional transport choice was due to traffic disruptions, stating, "I'm stuck in Paris, I'm stuck, I'm trapped between demonstrations, so I have no choice but to take the bike." She emphasized her commitment to cleanliness, adding, "But it's impossible for me to take the bike without my gloves."

Her efforts to embrace a more accessible mode of transport were noted by onlookers, particularly as her security guard followed closely behind, carrying her £85,000 crocodile Birkin bag. Despite her determination, Campbell struggled with the bike, partly due to her Chanel pumps, and expressed surprise at her inability to ride smoothly, joking that she hadn't ridden a bike in years except for stationary ones. She also lamented not wearing sneakers, which she had intended to wear.

Campbell's germ-conscious habits gained widespread attention during the COVID-19 pandemic when she was photographed boarding a plane in a full hazmat suit, mask, and gloves. She also shared a video detailing her routine of wiping down her first-class plane seat and tray. At the time, she stated, "This is my health, and it makes me feel better... As much as I travel, I should get so much more sick with colds and stuff and I'm blessed that I don't. And I really think that this helps me."

Campbell's participation in Paris Fashion Week follows a recent legal victory where she overturned a five-year ban from serving as a charity trustee. The ban was imposed in 2024 due to mismanagement of funds at her charity, Fashion for Relief.
