Nadia Sawalha is threatening legal action against ITV, alleging she has been unfairly treated and removed from the daytime program "Loose Women" due to her public support for Palestinian rights. Sawalha, who has been a regular on the show since 2013 and had an earlier stint from 1999 to 2002, claims ITV has repeatedly taken her on and off the program, changing the terms of her appearances. She stated that ITV executives told her they could not guarantee she would not be removed again, as it would depend on the discussions held during the show. "I was hired for being an opinionated woman on a discussion show and I've never brought up or spoken about Palestine directly on the show," Sawalha reportedly said. She expressed sadness that the situation had escalated, noting that her appeals to ITV "to their hearts and minds" had been unsuccessful. The European Legal Support Center (ELSC), an organization that supports pro-Palestinian cases, has sent a letter to ITV on Sawalha's behalf. The ELSC alleges that Sawalha has faced discrimination due to her "anti-Zionist beliefs," which they assert are protected under the Equality Act 2010. Sawalha's television career also includes roles in shows such as "Casualty" and "The Bill," and she is a former winner of "Celebrity MasterChef."
