Musician Nathan Smith, 45, died on Wednesday morning following a collision with a tractor in Stoke-on-Trent. Smith, a pedestrian at the time of the incident on Shelton New Road in Cliffe Vale, was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later died.

Staffordshire Police confirmed that the driver of the tractor is assisting with their inquiries. Emergency services, including West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance, responded to the scene after the collision was reported shortly after 8:20 a.m.

Smith was widely recognized in the music scene, particularly for his work with his band MFK, which included a performance supporting the popular band The Wombats at Trentham Gardens. He was also known as a self-taught electric bass player who performed in various Stoke-based bands and co-owned the UTC recording studio in Longton.

His family described him as a "wonderful son, grandson and an incredible father" who "charmed everyone he met and was universally adored." The band MFK also shared a tribute on Instagram, stating, "Absolutely heartbroken. Nay Smith forever."
