Isabelle Johnson, 38, was arrested Thursday in Cottondale, Florida, concluding a 45-day manhunt that spanned Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Johnson is wanted on a murder charge in the death of Jason Coulthart, whose body was discovered buried in a shallow grave on June 25.
The U.S. Marshals task force took Johnson into custody without incident at a residence off Peanut Road, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office. She was booked into the Jackson County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Walton County, where she faces the murder charge. Officials indicated that additional charges could be filed.
The arrest followed information developed by the Walton County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crimes Unit. Deputies and task force members responded to the Cottondale address based on this intelligence.
"It's absolutely a good day," said Walton County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Dustin Cosson, praising the inter-agency cooperation. "She's here, she's in custody."
Cosson stated that investigators dedicated significant man-hours to the search, which involved more than 40 subpoenas and over 20 search warrants. Coulthart was reported missing on May 24, last seen leaving the College Condominiums in Niceville. During the missing-person investigation, detectives identified a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport where Coulthart's remains were found buried on June 25.
Five other individuals have been arrested in connection with the case and charged with accessory to a capital felony after the fact: Michael Ray White, Kathleen Morris, Bobbi Wagstaff, Martin Leaverton, and Sandra Leaverton. Authorities anticipate further arrests.
During the manhunt, the Walton County Sheriff's Office described Johnson as "cunning" and a "master manipulator," urging the public to cease any assistance to her.
Additional details surrounding the arrest are being withheld as the investigation remains active.
