Authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Grand Haven Township, Michigan, where a family of eight was found dead with gunshot wounds following a fire at their home. The victims have been identified as Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, Amanda Karolkiewicz, 39, and their six children, aged 5 to 15.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office stated that Kristopher Karolkiewicz died by suicide, while his wife and children were killed. Multiple fires were intentionally set throughout the residence after the killings, according to officials. Dispatch audio obtained by Fox News revealed a caller describing the house as “full of smoke” and smelling “electrical."
Amanda Karolkiewicz, known as Mandy, had recently returned from a trip to China with the couple's two adopted daughters just days before the incident. Kristopher Karolkiewicz had previously worked as vice president of sales and marketing at the American Heart Association, but his employment ended earlier this month, the nonprofit confirmed.
Records indicate that Mandy Karolkiewicz had publicly accused her husband of infidelity in a 2024 post on Reddit, alleging an affair with a younger intern. The exact sequence of events leading to the deaths is still under investigation.
