The incident occurred on the eve of Halloween, just hours after a separate fatal shooting at another Spirit Halloween store in Madison Heights, Michigan. The suspected shooter was taken into custody by police and hospitalized after being attacked by bystanders. Investigators recovered a 9mm handgun and indicated that the Michigan shooting was not random.
