Multiple Victims, Including Children, in Oregon Elementary School Shooting

Children were among multiple victims of a shooting that occurred Thursday at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon. The Bend Police Department received a call reporting shots fired into a vehicle near the school at approximately 12:59 p.m., and by 1:02 p.m., officers arrived on the scene. The suspect was killed shortly thereafter, and authorities are investigating whether a bystander may have been responsible for the shooter's death.

At least two individuals were transported to a local hospital with injuries that remain unclear. The school was placed on lockdown, and officers have asked the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. A reunification site for parents and children has been set up at the Journey Church, located nearby.
