Multiple individuals were shot outside a funeral service in Detroit, Michigan, on Friday evening. Police responded to the scene near the Greater Love Tabernacle Church on Plymouth Road shortly after 6 p.m.

Witnesses reported that numerous people were struck by gunfire, although authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of victims or their conditions. The O.H. Pye III Funeral Home released a statement expressing sympathy for those injured and affected by the incident, calling it a "senseless act of violence" that disrupted a time intended for remembrance and healing.

The church also issued a statement via social media, indicating their cooperation with law enforcement and noting their ongoing prayers. "We have been praying everyday at noon and sincerely believe God’s covering interceded what could have been worse," the statement read.

This is a developing story.
