Multiple people were killed, and others injured, in a shooting incident at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The suspected gunman is also deceased, according to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks.
Authorities responded to reports of an active shooter at approximately 2:30 p.m. Hicks described the scene as "very chaotic" and confirmed that law enforcement agencies were on site. While the exact number of fatalities was still being confirmed as next of kin were being notified, Hicks stated that the threat to the community was over once the suspected shooter was found deceased nearby.
The identity of the suspected shooter and the motive behind the attack have not yet been released by authorities. Several injured individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Idaho Governor Brad Little urged residents to keep the Twin Falls community in their prayers and to follow the directions of law enforcement. Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador stated he was monitoring the situation and also advised people to stay away from the area to allow first responders to work.
The Twin Falls Police Department, Idaho State Police, and fire and paramedic crews remained on scene to secure the area. This is a developing story.
