MS NOW Airs Supercuts of Trump's Shifting Statements on Iran Conflict
The network presented compilations of President Trump's statements on the Iran conflict, highlighting perceived contradictions in his remarks.
MS NOW, a target of President Donald Trump's recent media criticism, aired three supercuts over the weekend that juxtaposed the president's own words regarding the conflict in Iran. The reports aimed to highlight perceived shifts in Trump's stance and predictions about the ongoing conflict.
One compilation, produced by senior digital reporter JM Rieger, focused on Trump's changing timelines for the end of the war, which began in February. Another supercut presented elements of Trump's earlier deal-making with Tehran, noting how he described the proposals as similar to the Obama-era nuclear agreement, an accord Trump had frequently criticized before withdrawing the U.S. from it.
Rieger also presented footage from Trump's 2024 campaign, where he emphasized a record of avoiding new wars and vowed to end existing conflicts. Clips featured Trump stating, "I was the first president in decades who started no new wars," and declaring, "I’m going to stop wars." This was followed by a clip of Trump justifying the military actions in Iran, stating, "We’re going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks, we’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong."
The assembled footage underscored the president's varied remarks on the protracted conflict, which shows no immediate signs of concluding.
