Mr. Olympia Judge Fatally Strikes Son With Cybertruck
Terrick El Guindy was backing his vehicle when the fatal accident occurred Saturday night.
A Mr. Olympia judge accidentally killed his six-year-old son, Preston, when he backed his Tesla Cybertruck into the child outside their Temecula, California, home on Saturday night.
Terrick El Guindy, 48, struck Preston just before 9 p.m. on Brookhaven Court. The family immediately called 911, and the boy was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he succumbed to his injuries that same night.
A GoFundMe created by a family friend described the incident as a tragic accident. "On Saturday night our sweet Preston was playing outside in his neighborhood and was accidentally struck by a moving vehicle," the page stated. "His injuries were too great and Preston tragically passed away at the hospital with Mom by his side. His parents and sister, Scarlett, are left with the insurmountable tragedy that is losing their son and brother."
The GoFundMe also remembered Preston as a joyful child, adding, "To know Preston is to love him. Always with a smile on his face he brings joy to everyone in his life."
The family noted on social media that Preston had recently started first grade.
El Guindy, a judge for the Mr. Olympia competition, was questioned by authorities following the incident but was not arrested. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that the Cybertruck was not operating in autopilot mode at the time of the collision.
"The CHP extends its condolences to the family and all those affected by this tragic loss," a CHP spokesman said. It remains unclear if any vehicle alerts notified El Guindy of his son's proximity behind the truck.
El Guindy also hosts the bodybuilding shows "Prime Time Muscle" and "Olympia TV," offering commentary on the sport. He has previously lauded bodybuilder Chris Bumstead, comparing his impact on the sport to that of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The CHP is continuing its investigation into the fatal incident.
