Motsi Mabuse Addresses 'Strictly' Tension Rumors with Josh Widdicombe

Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse appeared to address speculation of tension between herself and new host Josh Widdicombe with a playful comment during the show's third week. Viewers in the second week had suggested a 'simmering tension,' with some interpreting that Mabuse had grown weary of Widdicombe's interruptions and jokes.

As the third week commenced, Mabuse made a direct remark to Widdicombe after he quipped that he and Emma Willis were "dancers." Responding to his joke, Mabuse stated, "Yes Josh, my FRIEND!" The exchange, which prompted laughter from Widdicombe and the audience, was noted by viewers on X. While some interpreted the comment as Mabuse directly countering the online discourse, others remained unconvinced about their camaraderie.

This incident follows a previous moment in the launch show where Mabuse engaged in a similar playful exchange with Widdicombe. After judge Craig Revel Horwood commented on Mabuse agreeing with him, Widdicombe jokingly called out "Shirley!" as if to skip Mabuse's feedback. Mabuse then responded, "Well are we going to be friends or enemies, you choose now!" This comment also fueled speculation about underlying tension.

Mabuse has recently defended the hosting team, stating that they are "finding our rhythm."

Meanwhile, reports also indicate that viewers are beginning to warm to fellow host Johannes Radebe, who has faced scrutiny alongside Widdicombe and Willis since the season began. Initially, the trio's presenting format drew criticism, with Widdicombe being labeled a "spare part." In week three, fans observed Radebe becoming more comfortable in his role, with many expressing positive feedback on social media.

"Johannes is getting better every week," one viewer commented on X. Another noted, "Emma Willis is fab..so natural with the contestants..loving her on #strictly johannes and Josh definitely more settled as well." Others praised Radebe's increased ease and relaxation, with one user writing, "Jojo is settling in better and better each week."

Despite initial fan dissatisfaction with the unchanging presenting format in week two, with some calling out show bosses for "ignoring the public," the third week saw the trio continue with their established roles. Widdicombe and Willis presented on the floor, while Radebe was positioned in the "Clauditorium."
