Motorcycle Enthusiast and Partner Found Dead in Suspected Suicide Pact
The couple, identified locally as Jenny Westwood and Victoria Williams, were discovered at their Kenilworth home.
Two women, identified locally as Jenny Westwood and Victoria Williams, were found dead on Sunday evening in a suspected suicide pact. Police and emergency services were called to their rented home in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, after the landlord raised concerns about not hearing from the couple for several days.
Warwickshire Police stated that the deaths are not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be passed to the coroner. Neighbors described Westwood, believed to be in her early 60s, and Williams, in her 40s, as a private but pleasant couple who moved into the residence approximately a decade ago.
Westwood was a passionate vintage motorcycle enthusiast and racer. Bob Badland, secretary of the Midlands Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) and volunteer coordinator at the National Motorcycle Museum (NMM), described Westwood as a valued member and a highly thought-of individual. She volunteered at the museum, participated in VMCC rides, and had a particular fondness for Italian Moto Morini motorcycles. Badland noted that Westwood held a racing license, was a member of Mensa, and had developed a motorcycle tool she hoped to market, though production costs were prohibitive.
"Jenny was well-liked. She marshalled for us at the museum and took part in rides organised by VMCC," Badland said. "She was very highly thought of – a very nice woman."
He added that he last spoke to Westwood on Thursday, the day she was at the museum with other volunteers for maintenance and polishing work. "She seemed fine," Badland commented. "Nobody can understand what's happened. We can't believe the news."
Badland mentioned that Williams, known as Vicky, also shared some interests with Westwood, including a passion for 45rpm records, and would accompany Westwood to the museum during record fairs.
Westwood's racing background included an incident in June 2024 where she collided with the race leader at Mallory Park in Leicestershire, resulting in a torn shoulder muscle and seven weeks unable to drive. Despite the injury, she escaped without broken bones.
A resident living near the couple's home recalled Westwood and Williams introducing themselves shortly after moving in, noting they were the only tenants to do so. "They were a lovely couple but were very private, although I knew Jenny raced bikes," the resident said. "They didn't seem troubled, but I think Vicky had health issues."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that an ambulance and a paramedic officer responded to the incident, and sadly, two people were confirmed deceased at the scene.
