Mother Sentenced for Nappy and Sanitary Towel Campaign Against Neighbors

A mother of seven in Birmingham, England, has been sentenced for a persistent campaign of harassment against her neighbors, which involved throwing dirty nappies, sanitary towels, and other rubbish into their garden over a period of seven years.

Sufina Aslam, 42, pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment and one count of breaching a restraining order. Video footage released shows Aslam tipping bin bags full of refuse over the fence into the neighboring property, as well as hurling cooking pans filled with oil and smirking over the fence.

The victims were left with significant costs, having to pay £4,000 to clean up the mess and repair damage to their home. One of the victims, a 50-year-old who wished to remain anonymous, stated in a court impact statement that the harassment had caused sleepless nights and deteriorating health.

"My children's education is affected. It's a constant mental torture for all of us. I panic when I hear her voice," the victim said.

Another neighbor commented that the harassment had been ongoing for six to seven years, occurring at all hours of the day and night. The activity reportedly ceased for about six months prior to the court proceedings.

At Birmingham Magistrates' Court, prosecutor Fahad Gazge detailed the nature of the offenses, including the throwing of "dirty nappies, sanitary towels and food over the garden fence" along with "banging on the walls and shouting through the walls."

District Judge Michelle Smith opted for an "intense supervision court order rather than custody," warning Aslam that any further offenses could lead to a jail sentence. Aslam was also ordered to pay £70 to her neighbors.
