New York City police are searching for Nathaly Ramirez's ex-boyfriend in connection with the homicide of the 23-year-old mother and the critical injury of their infant daughter. Ramirez and her eight-month-old child were discovered outside their Bronx apartment building early Tuesday morning after an apparent fall from the 15th floor.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), both mother and daughter were transported to a local hospital. Ramirez was pronounced dead, while her baby remains in critical condition. Authorities believe the pair were pushed from Ramirez's apartment balcony.

Witnesses reported hearing a woman's plea, "Please don't do this!" shortly before the fall. Surveillance footage shows a man departing the scene as emergency responders arrived.

The NYPD has identified 31-year-old Angel Carrasco, Ramirez's ex-boyfriend, as a person of interest and are actively seeking him for questioning. Sources indicate that Ramirez had a history of domestic violence, though it is not confirmed if Carrasco is the infant's father.

A neighbor recounted an incident earlier this year where an unidentified man was attempting to force entry into Ramirez's apartment. "He was kicking the door down, trying to get into the apartment," the neighbor said. Another neighbor expressed concern about the rise in domestic violence affecting women in the community.

Friends remembered Ramirez as a devoted and happy new mother. Her former employer described her as a "radiant person" who was "hardworking, showed tenacity and dedication to pursue her career goals."

As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been made.
