Mother Accused of Killing Husband, Son During Extended Resort Stay
Authorities allege a woman fatally stabbed her husband and toddler son during a three-week stay at a Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania.
A mother is facing criminal homicide charges after allegedly stabbing her husband and their 3-year-old son to death inside a hotel room at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on Monday, October 12, 2026.
The suspect, 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison, is accused of using "butcher knives" in the attack. Police responded to a 911 call reporting a suicidal woman who "needed help dying."
Upon arrival, officers discovered the two victims with stab wounds. Knives, blood, and various medications were found in the hotel room.
The family, from Towanda, Pennsylvania, had been staying at the resort for an extended period, checking in on September 21 and scheduled to depart on October 13. A spokesperson for Great Wolf Lodge described the three-week stay as "uncommon, but not completely unusual," noting that families sometimes extend stays for reasons such as home renovations.
According to social media posts, Metallica Rose Harrison had recently shared photos of the family enjoying their time at the resort's waterpark. Her husband, Charles "Chaz" Harrison, is remembered by family members as someone whose "whole life was centered around his wife and child."
An online fundraiser has been created for funeral expenses. His sister, Melissa Rivera, stated in a post that the passing of her brother and nephew was sudden and heartbreaking, describing Chaz as a "good guy" whose loss is difficult to comprehend.
Court records indicate that Metallica Rose Harrison is being held in a Monroe County jail and was denied bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 21. Great Wolf Lodge has stated they are cooperating fully with law enforcement's investigation.
