Chandler David Hendry, a 27-year-old Mormon podcaster, died Friday morning following a car crash in Lehi, Utah. The incident occurred when Hendry, who was not wearing a seatbelt, ran a red light on Timpanogos Highway and collided with two vehicles that were crossing the intersection.
Hendry was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other serious injuries were reported in the collision.
He was best known for his podcast, "Restored Truth," which focused on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and aimed to prepare young members for missionary service. His brother, Chantry Hendry, told ABC 4 that his brother's legacy has reached globally and that he fulfilled his goal of being a disciple of Jesus Christ, a leader, and a "lighthouse and a rescuer to all those who are seeking truth."
Hendry was reportedly on his way home from the FAIR conference in Lehi, an event related to the church, and was also preparing for his own mission.
In a recent Instagram video, Hendry, who had nearly 50,000 followers, spoke about the afterlife, showing a graphic depicting family units extending into eternity. "That is what the eternities will look like," he told his followers. "A link of the family unit of God."
His family described him as an active individual who enjoyed golf and had completed a 100-mile run before his 2024 wedding to AnaLynn Hendry. His father, Chad Hendry, said, "He was an easy guy to love. He was the guy you wanted at the party."
A GoFundMe page has been established to support his wife and assist with funeral expenses and other needs following the sudden loss. As of Wednesday morning, the fundraiser had garnered nearly $84,000 of its $110,000 goal.
