Mookie Betts Thanks Dodgers Fans After NLCS Sweep
Shortstop expresses gratitude to the fanbase following the team's elimination from the National League Championship Series.
Mookie Betts extended his gratitude to the Los Angeles Dodgers fanbase less than 24 hours after the team was swept by the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series.
“This season didn’t end the way we wanted, but I just want to say thank you to everyone who supported us along the way,” Betts, the Dodgers' shortstop, wrote in a social media post.
He added, “Through the ups and downs, you continued to show up and show love. I don’t take any of that for granted. Thank you, Dodger Nation.”
The Dodgers' season concluded Thursday night with a four-game sweep by the Brewers, ending their bid for a third consecutive World Series title. Despite assembling a roster with significant financial investment, the team could not overcome the Brewers in the NLCS.
The team now faces a winter of evaluation regarding player futures, including whether Shohei Ohtani will pitch in the upcoming season and potential roster moves for players like Teoscar Hernandez and Tommy Edman. Questions also surround the return of free agent Tarik Skubal and how the team will address player development and potential younger talent.
This offseason will be critical for the Dodgers as they aim to regroup and prepare for the 2027 season following their disappointing playoff exit.
