Newly released video footage shows the moment Ukrainian property tycoon Vadym Yermolaiev, his mistress Anna Nasobina, and their 13-year-old son were targeted in a bomb attack outside their luxury apartment in Monaco on June 29. Ukrainian officials released the footage, which they stated was partially deleted by perpetrators but subsequently restored by specialists from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
The video depicts a suspect, identified as Ukrainian national Anastasiia Berezovska, leaving a backpack containing nuts and bolts in the building's entrance hall moments before the family entered. A large explosion is seen behind her on the surveillance footage as she walks away.
Nasobina suffered severe shrapnel wounds and burns and had her legs amputated. Yermolaiev and their son also sustained injuries from the blast. Yermolaiev, who was the target of the assassination attempt, has accused Kyiv's military intelligence agency, known as Hur, of orchestrating the attack. He stated that the incident was an attempt to kill him and his family.
Berezovska, 39, was identified by Interpol as the prime suspect for the parcel bomb attack. Footage showed her fleeing on foot across the border into France and subsequently believed to have traveled to Italy. She was found dead near Kyiv on July 6, with investigators stating she had been shot.
Two Ukrainian nationals, Vladyslav Reut, an active Hur officer, and Vitalii Zhykovych, a former SBU employee, have been charged in connection with Berezovska's murder. Both have pleaded not guilty. Reut initially confessed to killing Berezovska but later retracted his statement, accusing Zhykovych, whose lawyer denied the allegation.
Yermolaiev, a property developer with an estimated fortune of $230 million, stated that based on available evidence, he has "no doubt" that Hur officers were directly involved in the assassination attempt. This accusation could lead to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky facing questions from Western allies.
Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson for Hur, denied Yermolaiev's allegations, characterizing them as "subjective political statements" that could hinder the investigation into the bombing.
