A Long Island mother has gone viral after sharing her shock at the dilapidated state of her son’s fraternity house at the University of Delaware. Lori DiBisceglie Massaro documented her experience moving her son, Will, into the Phi Kappa Sigma house, expecting a living situation akin to what is portrayed in the TV show "Off Campus."

"When we got there, the outside didn’t look bad. Then we pulled around the back, and saw the couches outside. And then when we went in, I was shocked," Massaro told The Post. She described the kitchen as having "no shelves, no cabinets, no anything," and stated, "Everything about it was disgusting."

Massaro, whose son is a sophomore studying accounting, rented the house for Will and seven fraternity brothers, who each pay approximately $1,000 per month. She noted that the dwelling lacked a dining room, instead featuring a "party room" with stadium seating created by wooden platforms under the couches.

Upon entering her son's bedroom, which he had purchased furniture for from the previous occupant, Massaro found the conditions "horrific." She and her husband subsequently purchased a new mattress and spent an entire day cleaning the room.

"In fact, I told him, ‘Maybe you should utilize the bathrooms at the fitness center on campus,'" Massaro said, referring to the bathroom conditions.

Her video of the experience, capturing her dismay at the untidy state of the house, has accumulated over 1.4 million views on Instagram since its posting. The caption referenced her expectation of the house resembling the "awesome cool hockey house" of a character from "Off Campus."

The online reaction included numerous comments from individuals who shared similar experiences or offered commiseration. Some viewers advised her that the typical approach for parents is to drop off their students and "look the other way."

Massaro, a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, indicated that she is open to visiting the house again, even potentially attending a fraternity event.
