Mom Accused of Killing Husband, Son Told Rescuers She Was 'Suicidal, Not Stupid'

A woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband and their young son at a Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania told emergency responders that she was "suicidal, not stupid" and expressed a desire to join her family in death, according to an affidavit.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, was found with slashes to her wrists and neck on Monday at the resort in Scotrun, according to police. She had called 911 to report that her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, identified by the initials T.H., were deceased in their room.

When emergency medical services arrived, Harrison allegedly stated she had worked hard to be "the best mother, the best wife" and that "it wasn’t supposed to end like this." She also inquired about the depth of veins in her neck and wrists, reportedly expressing frustration that her blood had clotted despite taking blood thinners, the affidavit states.

Officers responding to the 911 call entered room 2030 and discovered the bodies of Charles Harrison and T.H. on mattresses. Both had sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest, according to the affidavit.

Investigators found a butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife in the sink, along with suspected blood containers and multiple bottles of medication. Harrison was transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The family had checked into the Great Wolf Lodge on September 21 and extended their reservation on October 5. Harrison remains in police custody.
