Mom Accused of Killing Husband, Son at Family Resort, Then Calling 911 for Suicide Help
Authorities allege a Pennsylvania woman fatally stabbed her husband and 3-year-old son before attempting to take her own life at a Great Wolf Lodge.

A mother is accused of fatally stabbing her husband and their young son before calling 911 and asking for assistance in ending her own life, according to police. The incident occurred Monday at a Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains.
Authorities identified the suspect as Metallica Rose Harrison, 27. She faces two counts of criminal homicide. Police allege Harrison stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, identified by the initials T.H., in their hotel room. Following the alleged stabbings, Harrison is accused of inflicting self-harm, slashing her wrists and neck.
During the 911 call, Harrison reportedly told emergency services that her husband and son were already deceased in the room and that she needed help to die. She also allegedly asked emergency responders for advice on locating a suitable vein for her suicide attempt.
According to an affidavit, Harrison had stabbed both victims in the chest. Monroe County District Attorney stated that the incident was a "violent domestic tragedy" and assured the public there was no ongoing threat.
While Harrison initially refused to speak with authorities upon her arrest, citing her suicidal state, she made a series of statements to EMS personnel as they transported her. According to the affidavit, she expressed a strong desire to be the "best person, the best mother, the best wife" and stated that the situation was not how she envisioned her life, which she had hoped would include a "happy family."
Investigators recovered two knives with teal handles from the hotel room, which a spokesperson for Great Wolf Lodge confirmed were not from the resort. They also found containers with suspected blood and bottles of medication. Police reported collecting over 80 to 90 pieces of evidence from Room 2030.
Harrison, who is from Towanda, was hospitalized and had not yet been arraigned as of Tuesday night. The family had reportedly been staying at the resort for several weeks, having checked in on September 21 and extending their stay on October 5.
A spokesperson for Great Wolf Lodge expressed deep sadness over the incident, describing it as an "isolated family incident" and stated that the company was fully cooperating with law enforcement.
