Model Abbey Clancy has shared an account of her daughter Sophia, 15, nearly being arrested by immigration officers upon their arrival in New York. The incident occurred when Sophia made a comment about "fingerprints on the gun" while being processed at the airport.
According to Clancy, in an episode of her podcast "The Therapy Crouch Show" with husband Peter Crouch, Sophia questioned why she needed to provide fingerprints, as she had recently renewed her passport. She remarked, "Is that in case there are fingerprints on the gun?"
Immigration officers reportedly took the comment seriously, leading to a grilling of Sophia. Clancy intervened, explaining that her daughter was attempting to understand how authorities track criminals. "I was like 'no, my daughter is not saying her fingerprints are on a gun', she's saying 'is that how you catch criminals, if fingerprints are on a gun?'", Clancy recounted.
The family had traveled to New York to join Peter Crouch, who was part of the FOX Sports Broadcast Team for the World Cup Final. Their trip also included a boat cruise around the Statue of Liberty, with Clancy sharing a photo of their 11-year-old daughter Liberty, who shares the same name as the monument.
Despite the initial travel hiccup, the family has been enjoying their time exploring New York City, attending events, and spending time together. The family includes their four children: Sophia, 15, Liberty, 11, and sons Johnny, eight, and Jack, seven. They were seen dancing in a taxi and enjoying meals out.
Clancy also touched upon her personal lifestyle changes, including curbing her drinking habits after indulging during the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining a fitness routine that includes gym visits and horse riding. Her daily routine involves managing her children's school schedules, morning coffees, and preparing family meals, with her husband occasionally cooking his signature omelette if she is unavailable.
