Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is continuing to improve in the hospital following a health scare last month, according to a spokesperson. McConnell, 84, was taken to the hospital on June 14 after being found unconscious at his Washington D.C. residence. A District Fire and EMS dispatch call indicated that medical personnel responded to a possible cardiac arrest, with "CPR in progress" mentioned.

"Senator McConnell appreciates the outpouring of support he’s receiving while he continues his recovery in the hospital," the spokesperson said in a statement. "The senator continues to improve, and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session."
