Missouri Coach Calls Fan Message Boards a 'Cesspool'
Eli Drinkwitz expresses frustration with persistent questions about running back Ahmad Hardy's return.
Missouri Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz has publicly criticized fan message boards, referring to them as a "cesspool" amid ongoing speculation regarding the return of running back Ahmad Hardy. The Tigers currently hold a 5-1 record this season.
Drinkwitz stated his frustration with repeatedly answering questions about Hardy's status, saying, "I will tell you all when there’s an update. Contrary to what’s on the cesspool of message boards."
Hardy, an All-American in 2025, has been sidelined since May following a gunshot wound. Despite his recovery and progress in returning to the field, there is no definitive timeline for his comeback. This lack of certainty has led to persistent inquiries at Drinkwitz's weekly press conferences.
Drinkwitz's remarks echo sentiments from other coaches, including Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, who also used the term "cesspool" to describe fan message boards following his team's recent loss to Missouri.
The Tigers' 5-1 start marks their fourth consecutive season achieving this record under Drinkwitz's leadership.
