Miranda Lambert Confirms Bar Fight With Nickelback's Chad Kroeger
The country music star admitted to throwing moonshine in the rock frontman's face during a 2010 incident.
Miranda Lambert has confirmed a long-standing rumor that she was involved in a bar fight with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in 2010. The incident occurred during Lambert's 27th birthday celebration in Nashville.
"I threw moonshine in his face. I did do that," Lambert admitted on the "Popcast" podcast, adding that she was "nervous" to address the event. She recalled that after the drink was thrown, Kroeger's hair was "wrecked."
While Lambert did not explicitly confirm a punch, she alluded to the intensity of the situation. "It was a lot and it was just a late night and no one was in their best state," she said, adding, "I don’t know if we’re fine now — but I don’t care."
Reports from 2010, including one from Us Weekly, indicated that the altercation began when Kroeger repeatedly pressured Lambert to take shots with him, which she refused. An eyewitness reportedly told the outlet that Kroeger told Lambert she “didn’t have to be a bitch about it,” leading her to throw the drink.
At the time, Lambert's then-fiancé Blake Shelton reportedly intervened in the scuffle but was held back by others.
Shelton himself referenced the incident years later in a 2015 Rolling Stone interview. Without naming Kroeger directly, he spoke about how "people always try to pop off or call her bluff at bars." He cryptically added that the individual in question was "the lead singer of a very popular rock band" whose initials were "C.K."
Lambert and Shelton were engaged in 2010 and married in 2011, divorcing in July 2015.
