Miranda Hart Eliminated from Celebrity Traitors, Citing Health Recovery

Comedian Miranda Hart has been eliminated from the reality show "Celebrity Traitors," becoming the fifth contestant to be murdered by the show's Traitors. Hart, 53, was targeted by fellow contestants Maya Jama, James Acaster, and King Kenny, who reportedly believed she was getting too close to uncovering their identities.

In her exit interview, Hart described her participation in the show as the culmination of a "very hard road" back to television after a period of ill health. She was diagnosed with ME, or chronic fatigue syndrome, in 2024. "I have missed doing television so much and it has been a very hard road to get to a place after restricting long-term illness to be fit enough to do something again," Hart stated.

Hart revealed she had been close to identifying the Traitors before her elimination. She noted a moment when fellow contestant Rob Beckett's assertion about another player being a "Faithful" made her realize Jama had moved during a blindfolded challenge. Suspicion also grew around Acaster due to an earlier vote.

Fans expressed their disappointment and sadness on social media platform X, with many calling Hart a "national treasure" and expressing joy at seeing her back on screen. Comments included sentiments like "Devastated doesn’t even come close to how i’m feeling" and "Miranda Hart deserved better."

The episode also featured a challenge where contestants collected bags of gold. In a strategic move, the group chose to protect Jama, Acaster, and Kenny, with Kenny receiving a dagger that granted him a double vote. The prize fund increased by £13,500 to a total of £59,500.

The show has faced accusations of a clumsy editing error that some viewers believe revealed Hart's fate prematurely. At the end of a previous episode, as Jama and Acaster watched from a turret, King Kenny appeared to begin writing Hart's name on a scroll before the camera cut away. This led to criticism from viewers who felt the suspense was compromised.

The episode concluded on a cliffhanger, with the remaining contestants divided between Sharon Rooney and Joanne McNally, leaving Kenny's double vote to determine who would be banished next.
