A mugshot of a Minnesota woman arrested for allegedly stealing power tool batteries has gained widespread attention online, with many social media users noting a perceived resemblance to pop superstar Jennifer Lopez.
Cyrena Anne Quast, 35, was arrested on August 30 in Monticello, Minnesota, on a theft charge. Authorities allege she stole two double packs of power tool batteries valued at approximately $580 from a retail store. The criminal complaint detailing the incident was obtained by TMZ.
However, it was Quast's booking photo that captured the internet's attention. Users on social media platforms quickly began drawing comparisons between Quast and Jennifer Lopez, with some suggesting the two could be mistaken for twins. The hashtag "#JLoLookalike" began circulating.
Some comments referenced Lopez's 2002 hit song "Jenny from the Block," playfully referring to Quast as "the real Jenny from the block." Others offered humorous takes, suggesting Quast looked like Lopez "if the global superstar had a really rough week."
A number of users also proposed that Quast could potentially serve as Lopez's stunt double.
Despite the widespread online commentary, not all social media users agreed with the comparison. Many pushed back, stating they saw no significant resemblance between the two women.
According to the criminal complaint, an employee at the store recognized Quast from a similar theft that had occurred days earlier. This recognition prompted the employee to alert the police, leading to Quast's arrest.
Quast was booked into the Wright County Jail on a gross misdemeanor theft charge.
