Minnesota Shoplifter's Mugshot Goes Viral for Resemblance to Jennifer Lopez
Social media users are comparing a Minnesota woman arrested for theft to the international superstar, joking about her alleged crimes.
A Minnesota woman’s arrest photo has gained significant online attention for its striking resemblance to pop superstar Jennifer Lopez. Cyrena Anne Quast, 35, was arrested on August 30 in Monticello, Minnesota, for allegedly stealing two double packs of power tool batteries valued at approximately $580.
The criminal complaint states that a store employee recognized Quast from a previous alleged theft two days prior and subsequently contacted law enforcement. Quast reportedly admitted to taking the batteries and was charged with felony theft.
However, it is Quast's mugshot, taken by the Wright County Sheriff's Office, that has captured the public's imagination. Many social media users have noted the uncanny similarity between Quast and the 57-year-old singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.
Online comments have humorously adapted lyrics from Lopez's 2002 hit song "Jenny from the Block." Some users have quipped, "In prison she’s known as Jenny from D-Block!" while others have speculated, "Jenny been walking the block too much."

Quast was released the day after her arrest. Records indicate that this is not her first encounter with the legal system. Her previous arrests include charges for drug possession, driving while intoxicated, fleeing police, and providing false identification, in addition to several traffic violations.
