Minka Kelly Addresses Dan Reynolds Split With Cryptic 'Soulmate' Post

Minka Kelly has seemingly broken her silence on her recent split from longtime boyfriend Dan Reynolds. The actress shared a cryptic quote on Instagram about the nature of 'soulmates' and personal development, a week after news of their breakup surfaced.

The message, posted at the end of a carousel featuring photos with friends, read: "Soulmates, or partners of destiny, can be people that come into your life and change your life. And ideally, it’s not about holding on to it, but understanding what they brought into your life – what did you learn and how did you change? It’s about seeing these people and these situations as a gift, as steps in your own personal development."

Minka Kelly and Dan Reynolds' relationship, which began in late 2022, appeared to be going strong as recently as July, when Kelly shared photos from a Disneyland trip with Reynolds and his children. Reynolds, who finalized his divorce from his ex-wife Aja Volkman in March 2024, had previously spoken about how well Kelly was integrating with his family. He told People in July that Kelly had been "really careful" and "sensitive" in navigating her relationship with his four children. "The kids really love Minka and really love their mom, and that's okay," Reynolds had said, describing them as "bonuses to the family: more people to love, more people to help."

News of the split emerged earlier this month, with sources telling People that the breakup had occurred recently. The couple made their red carpet debut in May, and Reynolds had described their relationship as "really happy, healthy" and noted they had been "attached at the hip" since meeting.
