Miniature pigs, some bearing names like Light Pig McQueen, Post Maloin, and Amy Swinehouse, are participating in races at Pennywell Farm in south Devon. Crowds gather at 12:30 p.m. daily to watch the diminutive swine compete on a specially designed track.
The farm has been breeding miniature pigs since 1992, with an average piglet weighing 250 grams at birth. These animals, also known as teacup pigs, micro pigs, and pygmy pigs, are described by farm staff as unique individuals with distinct coloring, markings, and personalities.
The enrichment center where the races take place features obstacles constructed from tires, old wellington boots, and brush heads. This event is highlighted as one of the farm's most popular daily activities.
