Milo Yiannopoulos, a right-wing commentator and current publicist for the artist formerly known as Kanye West, has reportedly been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Sources claim Yiannopoulos was taken into custody at an airport in Louisiana, and inmate records indicate he is currently at a detention center in the state, as first reported by TMZ.
The reasons for Yiannopoulos's travel to Louisiana remain unconfirmed. West is scheduled to perform in New Orleans on Friday.
Yiannopoulos, a British national, has previously stated he was residing in the U.S. on an O-1 nonimmigrant visa, a status granted to individuals with extraordinary ability in fields such as sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. He has been an outspoken advocate for immigration restriction and mass deportations.
