Millions Under Severe Storm Threat With Tornado Warnings Issued

Millions of Americans are bracing for severe weather conditions, including drenching rain, hail, and the threat of tornadoes, as a significant storm system sweeps across nine U.S. states. Tornado warnings have been issued in parts of Arizona, with the National Weather Service alerting residents to thunderstorms strong enough to produce twisters capable of damaging homes.

The severe weather began Wednesday morning and is expected to continue through Thursday. Meteorologists have warned that the threat of isolated tornadoes could expand into Southern California and Utah. Residents in the Los Angeles area are under a Flood Watch, anticipating up to three inches of rain, heavy downpours, small hail, and the possibility of waterspouts off the coast, with a slight chance of a brief tornado forming over land.

AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Adam Douty noted that the heaviest rain in Southern California is predicted from Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. Flood Watches have also been issued for Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and southwestern Colorado. Nevada, Oregon, Wyoming, and Idaho are also expected to experience thunderstorms and potential flash floods as the storm progresses northward through Thursday night.
