Over 11 million individuals in southern and eastern England are currently subject to hosepipe bans as the region endures its third heatwave of the year. An additional 21 million people have been advised to limit their water usage to alleviate strain on supplies and mitigate the increasing risk of drought.

The restrictions come as homeowners express frustration, with some vowing to defy the bans. These sentiments arise from concerns that water companies have not adequately addressed leaks while simultaneously awarding executive bonuses totaling £112 million over the past decade. Further dissatisfaction stems from record-low environmental ratings for water companies and a surge in sewage pollution incidents last year.

Daily Mail is conducting a poll asking residents if they will adhere to the hosepipe ban in their respective areas.
