Millionaire Couple on Hijacked Flydubai Flight
Steven and Carol Moss, formerly owners of Australia's most expensive home, were passengers on a Flydubai flight that experienced a suspected hijacking attempt.
A couple who once owned Australia's most expensive house were passengers on a Flydubai flight when an Omani man stabbed a pilot during a suspected hijacking attempt. The incident occurred on a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning.
Passengers and crew reportedly subdued the man after he attacked his colleague and attempted to take control of the aircraft. During the struggle, the plane plummeted 14,000 feet in just 29 seconds. The severely wounded captain, Smit Machchhar, was found on the floor of the cockpit.
Steven and Carol Moss, who built their fortune through the Katies fashion chain, were on board the flight. The couple previously sold their Scottish baronial mansion in Point Piper for $130 million to tech billionaire Scott Farquhar. They are understood to be recovering from the ordeal. A British off-duty pilot is believed to have been among those who intervened.
