Millie Mackintosh's Post About Divorce Draws Attention After Ex-Husband's Comments

Millie Mackintosh posted a pointed message on Instagram on Thursday, seemingly in response to her ex-husband Hugo Taylor's recent public comments about their marriage dissolution. Taylor, 40, had recently spoken about the past year bringing "considerable sadness" but expressed gratitude for their two young daughters, Sienna, six, and Aurelia, four.

Mackintosh, 37, who has since moved on with new boyfriend Matthew Tanner, 38, shared a clip from a trip to Ibiza with friends. Her caption read: "Girls be like 'I needed this' and it's just a divorce and a wellness retreat." The post featured her in workout gear participating in a cleansing ceremony.

This follows a cryptic Instagram post Mackintosh shared earlier in the week about "bitter hearts" just hours after Hugo Taylor broke his silence. The quote she posted stated: "I believe the most beautiful people are those who never let huge challenges turn their hearts bitter. They learned, made adjustments, created healthy boundaries, let go of the pain, and kept walking forward with kindness and gratitude."

Taylor had previously explained his decision to refrain from public comment out of respect for his family's privacy and the need for stability for their daughters. "While the past year has brought considerable sadness, I remain grateful for what matters most in my life," he wrote. "We share two wonderful young daughters, and my responsibility is to be the best father I can be, continuing to give them the love, security and consistency they deserve." He added that he looked to the "future with faith and optimism."

Hugo and Millie, former stars of "Made In Chelsea," parted ways earlier this year after seven years of marriage, with their divorce officially filed in February. Their daughters now divide their time between their parents' separate homes.

Taylor had also shared a quote on Instagram, reading: "All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost. The old that is strong does not wither. Deep roots are not reached by the frost," a line from J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Fellowship of the Ring." This quote contrasts with the proverb "All that glitters is not gold," which warns against deceptive appearances.

Mackintosh was first pictured with her new partner, Welsh fitness enthusiast Matthew Tanner, three weeks ago. The couple later attended a Boodles event together, and she subsequently featured him on her Instagram. Tanner, 38, works as a Global Solutions Director and Programme Director at Robert Walters Consultancy. His Instagram shows an interest in fitness, including running marathons.

Mackintosh and Taylor first met and began dating in 2011 during their time on "Made In Chelsea." Their relationship was marked by public drama, including an incident where Mackintosh threw a drink at Taylor after discovering he had cheated on her with her friend Rosie Fortescue. They split in 2011 after six months, and both eventually left the show.

After a five-year separation, during which Mackintosh was married to rapper Professor Green (Stephen Manderson) and finalized her divorce in 2016, she and Taylor reconciled in 2016. They married and had two daughters, eventually purchasing a home in west London. The couple quietly separated in February, leading to their current divorce proceedings.
