Millie Bobby Brown, 22, and her husband Jake Bongiovi have welcomed their second adopted child, a baby boy, as announced on Thursday.
The actress, who rose to fame at a young age on the Netflix series "Stranger Things," has transitioned into motherhood, becoming a parent for the second time through adoption. Their first child, a daughter, was adopted in August 2025.
Brown has spoken openly about her desire to adopt, stating it was a dream she held since childhood. She also expressed a hope to carry and give birth to a child in the future.
Since her breakout role at age 12 in "Stranger Things" in 2016, Brown has navigated the intense pressures of child stardom. She has candidly discussed experiencing significant anxiety and panic attacks due to fame and the constant public scrutiny. The actress has detailed how negative comments about her appearance and behavior as she matured affected her mental growth and led to feelings of insecurity and self-doubt.
Born in Spain in 2004 to British parents, Brown moved to the United States at age eight to pursue acting. She landed early roles in "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Intruders," "NCIS," "Modern Family," and "Grey's Anatomy" before her pivotal role as Eleven in "Stranger Things."
Following her success in "Stranger Things," Brown's career expanded to include films such as "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," "Godzilla vs. Kong," and the "Enola Holmes" movies. She also ventured into modeling, launched a beauty line called Florence by Mills, and published a novel.
In July 2021, Brown experienced public humiliation when intimate photos of her with then-TikTok star Hunter Ecimovic surfaced, followed by his explicit claims about their relationship during a livestream. Brown's representative condemned Ecimovic's remarks as dishonest and offensive. Brown later described the situation as an unhealthy one she had walked away from, but the subsequent public exposure left her feeling out of control and powerless.
Brown and Bongiovi, son of musician Jon Bon Jovi, began dating in mid-2021 and became engaged in April 2023. They married in May 2024. The couple now resides on a farm in Georgia, where Brown tends to farm animals and is pursuing veterinary studies online. They have maintained privacy regarding their children's names and images.
Brown previously shared her commitment to helping young people understand that she, too, faces challenges and has made mistakes, aiming to be a relatable figure rather than a perfect one.
