Miley Cyrus Claims Dolly Parton Sent a Sign from Beyond the Grave

Miley Cyrus has shared an intimate account of an alleged spiritual encounter with her late godmother, Dolly Parton, telling concertgoers that Parton communicated with her from beyond the grave. The claim came during one of Cyrus's recent Hollywood Bowl performances.

Cyrus, 33, described how she contacted Parton, who passed away in August, by playing the singer's hit song "Jolene" on her phone while holding it up to a mannequin fashioned in Parton's likeness. Cyrus stated that she had received the mannequin as a Christmas gift and that it was dressed and built to resemble the iconic singer.

"I said, 'Dolly, if you’re here right now, flicker the lights,'" Cyrus told the audience. She then recounted that the "entire hallway started flickering," an event she shared with her fiancé, Maxx Morando, who she said also witnessed it.

"So, I know she’s here with me tonight," Cyrus declared, interpreting the flickering lights as a sign of Parton's presence. The singer added that she felt Parton's presence gave her the strength to continue performing.

This recollection follows an emotional tribute Cyrus delivered for Parton at her first Hollywood Bowl concert on Friday. While performing Parton's song "Jolene," Cyrus became visibly moved, telling the crowd that she had once watched her godmother perform at the same venue. She recalled expressing to Parton her desire to witness a performance from the audience, much like "the rest of the world has gotten to."

Cyrus conveyed a sense of Parton's enduring presence, stating, "Sitting here with you all right now, feeling her all around me, knowing that she's right here beside me, every day, more than she could be when she was here. I feel her more now than ever."

Parton died at the age of 80 on August 25, following what her representatives described as a "brief battle with cancer" after being admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for autoimmune and kidney issues.
