Milania Giudice Reveals Mental Health Struggles, Apologizes for Recent Behavior
The daughter of reality TV star Teresa Giudice shared her diagnosis and sought help following a difficult summer.
Milania Giudice, daughter of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice, has revealed she is battling bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. Giudice shared this news in a candid video on Instagram, addressing a recent public confrontation with her family at an airport and acknowledging it has been "the worst time of my life."
Giudice explained that she wants to use her platform to help others and spread awareness. "Social media is like an onion. You see layers of people's lives and you guys quite frankly have been seeing the worst, worst times of my life," she stated. She added that she is currently seeking help at a treatment center, with her mother visiting her there.
Milania described the summer as hitting her "like a bus," referencing the death of her childhood friend Victoria Zardoya, who died at age 20 in July. This personal loss, combined with public scrutiny, has been challenging.
The airport incident in late September involved police being called after Giudice reportedly ran off from her family and a counselor at Tampa International Airport. During the confrontation, bodycam footage obtained by TMZ showed Teresa Giudice telling police that Milania allegedly had fentanyl in her system prior to being hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act. Milania could be heard in the footage saying she had been "laced" with the drug, while her mother insisted she was trying to "save her life."
In a statement, Teresa Giudice emphasized her priority as her children's health and safety. "The past few months have been incredibly difficult for our family, and I feel it is important to say something while also protecting my daughter during an extremely vulnerable time in her life," she said. Giudice noted that her daughter has experienced significant psychological trauma following the loss of two best friends. "Grief affects everyone differently, and watching your child try to process that kind of loss is something no parent can ever truly prepare for," she added.
Milania Giudice apologized for not using her platform as she intended and expressed a desire to do better and change her social media presence to help people. "I want to help people in life. So I think that's it for today," she concluded in her video. Her mother pleaded for compassion, kindness, and privacy during this difficult period for her daughter.
