Milania Giudice Celebrates Sister's Birthday Amidst Family Turmoil
Weeks after a public incident at Tampa International Airport, the daughter of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice sent birthday wishes to her sister Gabriella.
Milania Giudice publicly acknowledged her sister Gabriella's 22nd birthday, a gesture that followed a difficult period for the family marked by an incident at Tampa International Airport. Milania, 20, who has been under the care of health professionals, shared her sentiments on Instagram, calling Gabriella "the best sister I could ever ask for."
"You're genuinely one of the smartest people I know, and I'm so proud of the person you are," Milania wrote, accompanied by a carousel of photos featuring the sisters throughout their childhood and with their family. She acknowledged past difficulties, stating, "I know I haven't always made being my sister easy, but you've always been there for me, accepted me, and loved me through everything."
Milania's message also included a playful comparison, calling Gabriella "literally Cinderella in real life." She concluded by expressing her love and appreciation for her sister, noting how quickly time has passed. Gabriella responded to the post with "I love you so much," and their mother, Teresa Giudice, also shared birthday wishes in the comments.
The family's public expression of affection comes weeks after police were called to Tampa International Airport on September 23 due to Milania experiencing what was described as a "mental breakdown" and "suicidal thoughts." According to reports, the incident occurred after Milania had been released from St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. While at the airport, Milania reportedly clashed with her mother and sister Gia before running off within the terminal. Police located her after reviewing surveillance footage and her cellphone's location data. No arrests were made.
Body camera footage obtained by TMZ captured Teresa Giudice telling officers that Milania allegedly had fentanyl in her system during a prior incident, which preceded her hospitalization under Florida's Baker Act. Milania could be heard in the footage stating she had been "laced" with the drug, while Teresa expressed her efforts to "save her life."
This airport incident followed an earlier event in May, when Gabriella reportedly called 911 from the family's New Jersey home. According to a police report, Milania was acting erratically during a "domestic violence dispute," which involved her allegedly "throwing food [and] candles." Milania was subsequently arrested and charged with simple assault. Her court appearance, initially scheduled for July 14, was postponed to December 1.
In a statement released on September 28, Teresa Giudice addressed the situation, emphasizing the importance of her children's health and safety. "The past few months have been incredibly difficult for our family," she stated, "and I feel it is important to say something while also protecting my daughter during an extremely vulnerable time in her life."
Giudice explained that grief affects individuals differently and that watching a child process loss is a challenging experience for any parent. She reiterated that her primary focus is on her daughter's well-being and ensuring she receives necessary love, support, and care. Acknowledging the public nature of her family's life, Giudice requested "compassion and kindness," as well as privacy, for her daughter during this personal time.
Teresa Giudice and the girls' father, Joe Giudice, finalized their divorce in September 2020. Both had previously faced federal charges, including fraud and conspiracy, to which they pleaded guilty in 2014. Teresa served a prison sentence in 2015, and Joe served his sentence ending in 2019 before being deported to Italy and later moving to the Bahamas. Teresa Giudice married businessman Luis Ruelas in 2022.
