Mike Evans Honors Steph Curry with Warriors Jersey Before 49ers Game
The Buccaneers receiver paid tribute to the Golden State Warriors star ahead of Monday Night Football.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans embraced Bay Area sports culture by wearing a Golden State Warriors jersey featuring Stephen Curry's number 30 before the team's Monday Night Football game against the Washington Commanders. The gesture occurred on the red carpet at Levi’s Stadium as players arrived.
Evans, in his first season with the 49ers after 12 years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has made a significant impact. He leads the team with 24 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns. In the game against the Commanders, Evans recorded two receptions for 78 yards, including a crucial 54-yard catch that set up a Christian McCaffrey touchdown run.
Despite an injury scare earlier in the week that had him listed as questionable with a rib and Achilles issue, Evans played and contributed to the 49ers' performance. His prominent play has been a key factor for the team this season.
Meanwhile, Warriors star Stephen Curry recently dealt with his own minor injury scare, a sprained ankle that caused him to leave an open practice early. Head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that Curry would be available for the Warriors' season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.
