Miguel Rojas Names Four Dodgers Stars as Closest Friends

Retired Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas has identified four teammates as his closest friends during his tenure with the club: Kiké Hernández, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Max Muncy.

Rojas, who recently concluded his Major League Baseball career, spent four seasons with the Dodgers, emerging as a significant clubhouse leader and a respected veteran. He shared his reflections on his time with the team, particularly highlighting the bond he formed with these four players.

"We’re called the viejitos because they started calling us the dinosaurs, old players, old guys. They didn’t know if we could still do it," Rojas said on MLB Network, referring to the nickname given to the team's veteran players. "In some form, we showed the world that we were able to do it."

The veteran infielder returned to the Dodgers for a second stint in 2023, playing a key role in their back-to-back World Series championships. Notably, Rojas hit a game-tying home run in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series. Despite ultimately falling short of a third consecutive title in 2026, the Dodgers' veteran-heavy roster achieved 100 regular-season wins.

Rojas confirmed his retirement following the Dodgers' elimination in the National League Championship Series in 2026. However, his involvement in baseball is not entirely over, as he is set to play for the Tiburones de La Guaira club in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

While Rojas will not be with the Dodgers in 2027, Freeman, Betts, and Muncy are expected to continue providing leadership for the team. Additionally, Hernández is returning to Los Angeles as a free agent this offseason.
