Miguel Rojas Exits NLDS Game 3 with Lower Back Pain

Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Miguel Rojas exited Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Tuesday in the eighth inning after experiencing discomfort. Rojas was removed from the game after fouling off a fastball from Braves reliever Brent Suter, showing visible pain as he began to limp.

A member of the Dodgers' training staff and manager Dave Roberts immediately attended to Rojas on the field. The team later announced that Rojas was out of the game due to lower back pain. Tommy Edman entered the game to replace Rojas at second base.

Before his departure, Rojas went 0-for-3 at the plate. He recorded one hit in the series so far, a double during the Dodgers' 5-3 victory in Game 1. Rojas is reportedly expected to retire after the current season concludes. He was a pivotal player in the Dodgers' 2026 World Series run, hitting a game-tying home run in Game 7 against the Blue Jays that sent the game into extra innings, ultimately leading to an 11th-inning win for Los Angeles.

In Tuesday's NLDS Game 3, the Dodgers took an early lead with home runs from Kiké Hernández and Freddie Freeman in the fourth inning. The Braves responded in the fifth inning when Drake Baldwin grounded out to first base after starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto loaded the bases. Yamamoto pitched seven innings, allowing four hits, one run, and one walk while recording a career-high 10 strikeouts on 98 pitches.
