Migrant Who Made Death Threats Against Jews Housed by UK Taxpayers, Draws Condemnation

A migrant who previously called for the death of all Jews and served time for illegal entry into the UK is now residing in taxpayer-funded accommodation in Northamptonshire, drawing criticism from political figures.

Abu Wadee, 34, identified as a Hamas supporter, arrived in the UK via a small boat and was subsequently jailed for nine months for illegal entry. He is now housed in Corby as part of the Home Office's asylum dispersal scheme, sharing a property with three other individuals.

The cost of his accommodation is estimated at £23.25 per night, with an additional subsistence allowance of up to £49.18 per week, according to Home Office figures. Wadee, whose full name is Mosab Abdulkarim al-Gassas, reportedly declined to comment when approached by the Daily Mail.

Local and national politicians have voiced concerns. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp described the situation as a "joke" and called for Wadee's deportation, suggesting he could return to Hamas-controlled territory. Lee Barron, the Labour MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire, stated he would press the Home Secretary for Wadee's immediate deportation.

Concerns have also been raised by neighbors. One resident expressed being "appalled" that someone who had called for violence against Jewish people was living in their community, while another described the news as "scary."

Wadee, originally from Khan Yunis in Gaza, has a history of posting inflammatory content on social media. Videos, some viewed millions of times on TikTok, have depicted him with firearms and making antisemitic statements. In one video translated by research organization Camera, he prayed for the destruction of Jews.

He had previously attempted to claim asylum in Greece, Belgium, and Germany before crossing the English Channel. His asylum claim in the UK was lodged after his release from prison.

A government spokesperson stated that any foreign national receiving a prison sentence in the UK is referred for deportation and barred from re-entry. The spokesperson noted that over 11,000 foreign criminals have been deported in the two years since the last election, a 41% increase compared to the previous two years.
