A 25-year-old Mexican migrant was rescued by U.S. Border Patrol agents after being lost for two days in the rugged terrain of California's Jacumba Mountains without water. The individual made a distress call, initiating an urgent search by the Border Patrol's El Centro Sector.

Officials obtained the migrant's GPS location and dispatched response teams. Air support was requested from multiple agencies, but the challenging landscape of boulder fields limited aircraft access. Agents utilized all available resources to locate the individual.

Agents eventually found the man in the rocky terrain, where he was lying under the partial shade of a boulder. Photos released by the agency show the man in the desert landscape. Upon reaching him, officials provided ice to cool him down and medical personnel evaluated him. The man was safely rescued following the coordinated operation, though his final destination was not disclosed.

Border Patrol stated that "Every rescue requires coordination, urgency, and determination." The agency emphasized that this mission was no different.
