Mick Gould, a former participant on the reality series "Married at First Sight," has announced his engagement to girlfriend Jean Boyd. The proposal took place shortly after the couple finalized the purchase of their new home, seven years after Gould's appearance on the show.
Gould shared the news on Instagram, captioning a post, "We did a thing and bought a thing. Soon to be Mr and Mrs Gould. Love ya darl." Boyd re-shared the post, adding, "So it's going to be forever."
The announcement was met with congratulations from followers and former cast members. Bella Frizza, a fellow "Married at First Sight" bride, commented, "The farmer finds a wife! Or something like that congrats!" Another follower expressed happiness for Gould, noting his "infectious personality" on the show and that he "deserved to find your special someone."
Gould gained notoriety during season six of the Australian iteration of "Married at First Sight." His on-screen relationship with Jessika Power was marked by significant conflict, including Power's affair with another contestant, Dan Webb. Gould had expressed feelings of betrayal and wasted time, particularly concerning his desire to return to his farm in Queensland.
This engagement follows a period of personal challenges for Gould. In 2022, his home in Queensland was severely damaged by floods. His girlfriend shared a video documenting the extensive damage, detailing "23 metres high of flood waters, 7 days of being stranded, 6 days with no power, 3 days with no service, livestock lost and everything destroyed."
Prior to his relationship with Boyd, Gould was previously linked to "The Bachelor" star Kayla Gray. Their split was announced in June 2023.
