Michelle Keegan Catches Husband Mark Wright in a Lie About His Whereabouts
The actress playfully confronted her husband during a live radio interview after discovering he was at a golf course instead of at home with their daughter.
Michelle Keegan discovered her husband, Mark Wright, had been untruthful about his location when he unexpectedly joined her live Heart FM radio interview via FaceTime on Wednesday. Wright appeared from a golf course, contrary to Keegan's understanding that he was at home with their 18-month-old daughter, Palma.
"Shock he's at golf," Keegan remarked during the interview, playfully demanding, "I've got a question, where's the baby?" Wright responded defensively, stating, "She's with my mum, she's seeing her nanny today." Keegan responded with mock exasperation, "You told me you weren’t golfing today. You’re in trouble!" Wright quipped back, "This is what I mean guys, you've got me in the doghouse!"
The actress was participating in the interview to promote her new drama series, "The Blame," in which she plays DI Emma Crane. This role marks her first since giving birth to Palma in March of the previous year.
Keegan has previously spoken about the challenges of returning to work after becoming a mother. She described the experience as "daunting" but acknowledged the support she received from the production team, stating it felt like working with family.
Earlier this year, Keegan discussed the public scrutiny surrounding her family plans. She revealed that after a decade of marriage to Wright, the couple faced consistent speculation about when they would start a family. This pressure led her to stop discussing personal matters publicly. Now 38, she expressed increased confidence in setting boundaries.
In a decision to prioritize family, Keegan reportedly withdrew from an upcoming ITV drama. She is said to have stepped back from the project, which would have seen her play a working-class barrister, due to concerns about being away from Palma for extended periods. Jodie Whittaker has since taken over the role.
Sources indicated that Keegan was initially enthusiastic about the part but ultimately could not commit due to the demanding filming schedule. The project was set to commence shortly after her Netflix drama "The Woods." Keegan's decision highlights the ongoing effort for working mothers to balance demanding careers with parenting responsibilities.
