Michelle Keegan and James Buckley were seen filming scenes for Harlan Coben's upcoming Netflix thriller, "The Woods," in Merseyside on Monday. Keegan, who previously starred in Coben's "Fool Me Once," returns to the streaming platform to portray Lucy Silverfield in the dark drama. Buckley, known for his comedic roles, sports a new hairstyle for his part in the series.

"The Woods" is based on one of Coben's most personal novels. He serves as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions. Coben has described the novel's hero, Paul Copeland, as a character he relates to, having worked as a counselor at a sleepaway camp when he was young. Keegan expressed her excitement about exploring Lucy's vulnerability and the emotional depth of the character, noting that Lucy is dealing with "deep, personal secrets."

The Inbetweeners star, 38, looked almost unrecognisable as he ditched his iconic hairstyle for a fresh new cut.

The series synopsis reveals that "twenty years ago, Paul 'Cope' Copeland's sister Camille vanished from a summer camp in the woods." The disappearance fractured his family. Now a barrister and single father, Cope believes his sister may have survived the incident. His investigation into the past, alongside his former love interest Lucy Silverfield, uncovers long-held secrets and cover-ups.

Michelle and James are joined on the show by comedian Tom Allen, After Life's Mandeep Dhillon, Small Prophets' Pearce Quigley, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Rade Sherbedgia, Christopher Harper, Dean Fagan and Roger Barclay.
