Hollywood actor Michael Shannon has remarried, tying the knot with photographer girlfriend Christy Bush in an intimate ceremony in Athens, Georgia, earlier this month. The couple reportedly obtained a marriage license in the state on July 27, which is awaiting a judge's signature.
A source told Page Six that the ceremony was attended by close friends and industry acquaintances. Bush, who accompanied Shannon to a Paris Fashion Week event in January, was first publicly photographed with the actor in October 2025 at the Pasaquan art compound in Buena Vista, Georgia.
Shannon, 52, has not publicly confirmed his separation from his former wife, Kate Arrington. However, TMZ reported that they privately divorced at some point in 2022. Shannon began appearing without his wedding ring around that time, according to Extra, though the divorce was never officially announced. The couple has not been photographed together since 2024.
Shannon and Arrington, who met in 2002 while working in theater in Chicago, share two daughters: Sylvia, 18, and Marion, 12. They married in 2017.
This is also a second marriage for Bush. She was previously married to Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino, and they share a 17-year-old daughter named Francesca. Bush is an acclaimed portrait photographer whose work has been featured in publications such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Her photo book, "F A M I L I A R," was released in 2021, and her work has been exhibited in major cities across the U.S. and internationally.
